look at or think about your 100 chart. One more (+1) is the next counting number. One more than 47 is 48. One less is the number before (-1). One less than 47 is 46. Ten more (+10) changes the tens and the ones stay the same. Ten more than 47 is 57. Ten less (-10) than 47 is 37.

6<8 means 6 is less than 8. 9> 5 means 9 is greater than 5. Sometimes there are two steps. First, understanding the numbers: 4 tens 6 ones is 46 and 7 tens 4 ones is 74, then you can compare. 46<76.
